We would most certainly recommend Reykjavik Car Rentals to any people we know travelling to Iceland. Within a day of our contracted time of drop off, my wife and I realised we had made a dreadful error when we booked some 9 - 10 months ago. We had booked the car for 2 days less than was needed. As we had accommodation booked, miles away from Reykjavik it was impossible for us to get the car back on time. On phoning head office, our rental was extended without penalty. Of course we paid for the extra days and associated costs such as insurance as you would expect. Staff were most helpful and understanding. Drop off was seamless.

Staff was pleasant, informative, efficient, professional and just nice to deal with. Everything was in order, forms and insurance explained. Process was very quick. If I go back to Iceland (hopefully) I would definitely rent from them again.

Everything was smooth and no problems. Rented a small Nissan which was fine even on gravel roads (we went slow not to scratch the car). Not an off road vehicle but did fine all over Iceland. I was very satisfied with the car and with its price. I paid for Dacia Logan and got Dacia Duster. I also ordered a car usb charger which I did not get so I was bit disappointed, but I got my money back. Everything was quick and easy. I can recommend this company.

Finding the right car rental company was the most difficult decision we made for our Iceland vacation as there were so many horror stories of tourists getting scammed. Reykjavik Rent-a-car seemed to have much better reviews and prices, so we went with them. We also purchased the Gold insurance package as that limited us to 75000isk in risk. We reserved a Toyota Rav4 (or similar) and were given a 2018 Hyundai Tucson with only 2000km. No complaints there. We had zero issues with the car and put a lot of miles on it. After a full 7 days, we returned it and they had us on our way after a quick examination of the car. We then simply walked to the airport with our luggage as we just missed the previous shuttle. It was an easy & short walk and much better than waiting for the shuttle, of which we made the mistake of doing when first arriving. I was confused originally when planning this trip as they have a very very similar website as SadCars.And the office includes 4 other rental companies, including SadCars. I'm thinking they're all the same, just different cars. Glad we chose the company with the new cars! We'd definitely go through Recykjavik Rent a Car again next time in Iceland. Maybe things would have turned out different if we had attempted the F-Roads in the rain, but the regular roads offered us enough to see as-is!

From Google reviews: Rented a Dacia Logan for a family WoF 5 with 3 teenage boys. Enough space to sit and lots of space for luggage. The rental went smooth. No issues with the car or service whatsoever.

Iceland by car? Great choice! You can stop where ever you want and observe this amazing nature, it is easy to travel, easy to cook and cheaper than lodges. And more comfortable than tent. Believe me, weather is changing all the time.

Reservation was easy and straightforward. I called the Reykjavik office (Kristin? KS)when our flight to Iceland was delayed by one day, and was assure that our car would be held for us. Kristin followed up with a reconfirmation e-mail for the revised pick-up date minutes after the call ended. Check-out was simple. We were given a 2018 Nissan Quashqai 4x4 with less than 3.000 Kilometers in virtually showroom condition. Returning the car 2 weeks later was equally simple. Anita checked the car back in, signed off on the rental form, and we were on our way. I could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you! If we return to Iceland, Reykjavik Rent A Car will definitely be our choice again.

From Google reviews: The company has an office right outside Keflavik airport. There is a free shuttle bus fm the airport to the office. The stuff is friendly. I had no problems w/the car whatsoever (considering the fact she was brand new and only had 15 k km run). The technical support and gas discounts work perfectly well. There is a possibility to pay by debit card (that is IF you purchase platinum insurance which, by the way is a wise idea, considering the road conditions). One word of advice to future travellers - small car may not be sufficient for gravel roads regardless if they are F marked or not. Nevertheless we used a Suzuki Swift and she had managed just fine.

Great place, polite staff, reliable cars. On Iceland it's better to rent from local rent-a-car agency such as this one than from more expensive franchise.

From Google reviews: This is the only rental company in Iceland I found that allows you to rent a car without a credit card. You just need to buy the platinum insurance (more expensive but at the same time you are covered for everything - zero self risk) and you can use your debit card during booking. The car was very nice, clean and fresh inside (small, but that's what we asked for). All the scratches and any damages were highlighted on the agreement. We picked up the car at Keflavik airport, but we could still use the office in Reykjavik to add an extra driver. The service in both offices was great, we didn't have to wait long, and as it was my first time ever renting a car I was asking a lot of questions which the staff was happy to answer. Definitely would recommend, especially with the platinum package - no need to fear any extra charges to your card. Hopefully I'll return to Iceland at some point and will be happy to use Reykjavik Rent a Car again! :)
